OBJECTIVE

The objective of this programme is to provide training to job seekers to enable them to gain employment as a nanny (within NZ and overseas), Home Educator, Family Day Care Provider, Education Support/Teacher Aide Worker in Childcare, Kindergarten, Primary School and Special Needs areas, or go onto further training at a higher level.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate in Education Support Level 3
  • National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care Level 3
  • NCEA Level 1 (can be achieved when units are completed - where applicable)
Units are available in Early Childhood Education, Humanities, Human Services, Self Management, and Work and Study Skills.
The programme is accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

CONTENT

This year long programme presents a comprehensive introduction to early childhood, nannying, teacher aide and special needs education and care. There are four modules (four 10 week Modules) in this Programme to fit in with the school terms. Trainees are not required to work during school holidays.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Inservice  – 2 days a week at “The Yellow Castle”        (Wed, Thurs)
Practicum – 3 days a week at a supervised centre        (Mon, Tues, Fri)
